Trained as an architect and civil engineer, David B. Harton has extensive experience as a project leader for large design and construction projects. Since 1980, however, Harton has  been a working sculptor. He is presently the co-owner and Gallery Director of Beaver Street Gallery in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he also has his studio.  He holds an MFA from Northern Illinois University, has taught at the university level, and continues to conduct workshops and presentations in the US and abroad.  As an adjunct to his work in clay, Harton has also consulted on and led large kiln-building projects, including designing, building and documenting the construction of salt, raku and wood-fired kilns in the Orient and the US.  Since establishing his studio in Flagstaff twelve years ago, he has been concentrating on producing large-scale metal sculpture and political installations.  His work is represented in many private and public collections in the USA and the Far East.
